Phi Sigma Rho @ UCSD

Phi Sigma Rho is UCSD’s first and only science and engineering sorority. It is a place for women in engineering and science majors to experience Greek life, a place to balance social and academic efforts, to grow into strong and intelligent women, to know the love of sisterhood, and to enjoy the support of a close-knit family.

We have everything and nothing in common- Phi Rhos commiserate over the same core science classes and help each other with homework, studying, and careers- but who we are as individuals reflects a diversity found in few other places. The sisters of Phi Sigma Rho aren’t just scientists and engineers; we are dancers, gymnasts, equestrians, artists, musicians, writers, athletes, environmentalists, philosophers, and politicians. Among us are members of the Biomedical Engineering Society, Institute of Electronics and Electronical Engineers, Triton Engineering Student Council, Society of Women Engineers, Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honor Society, Alpha Phi Omega Community Service Fraternity, and more; and that’s not including all the miscellaneous and philanthropic organizations our members are involved elsewhere!

Phi Sigma Rho is a learning and a living experience. We prepare ourselves professionally for success in any workplace, socially for futures as outstanding members of our communities, and academically for careers in innovation and technology. And there is nowhere like here to learn and practice friendship and sisterhood, trust, love, support, and selflessness (sometimes forgiveness, too).

Together we are better than we could ever be apart, and

together we build the future!
